Zelda
I have been involved in swimming for many years of my life.
In my younger days I competed at County and National levels, also
swimming abroad with my Club (Aldershot Garrison and Town, then Rushmoor
Royals). Having leant to swim with “The Kennedy’s” from
Aldershot, Hampshire back in the 1960’s they were my first port of call for my
teaching qualifications. I taught with the Kennedy family at the Command
Baths for many years and moved with them to The Camberley Arena for its
opening.

Sheila
and I go way back, so much so that I taught her daughter Tracy to swim. Sheila herself took lessons as an adult for stroke improvement from
Monica, daughter of Tom Kennedy, and having put all her children through
lessons was then approached to become an instructor herself.
Sheila and I have worked together for many
years and even though she now has 7 grandchildren she still finds time
to teach many hours for us.

swimming started with Wey Valley Swimming Club in Guildford as a teenager.
In 1992 I backpacked around Australia were I met my husband. We lived in
Adelaide for 15 years were I gained my Austswim qualifications and taught
with StateSwim Adelaide for a number of years. In March 2007 we moved back
to Guildford with our two girls and I contacted Zelda and joined the team in
September. |
